Formosa is a 25mm, high quality, Australian made synthetic grass. It is a convenient short pile landscape solution with a distinctive reinforced spine technology yarn for extra resilience to foot traffic. Formosa has a less glossy appearance than many other synthetic grasses making it better for those wanting a more realistic look. It has three shades of green and one sandy coloured thatch layer.

UV Stabilisation

All synthetic turf sold at Paul Munns is UV stabilised, which is a very important feature in synthetic grasses. The pigment in the synthetic grass will not fade over time from the stress of the intense sunlight we receive in South Australia.

Technology

Formosa has COOLplus technology, which means it has 20-25% cooler surface temperatures compared to other synthetic turf products. This is because sunlight is comprised of a wide spectrum of radiation including visible light, UV radiation and infrared (IR). Infrared radiation causes molecular vibration, which translates into heat energy when absorbed by an object. COOLplus yarn technology does not absorb infrared rays, translating into less molecular vibration and cooler surface temperatures. It also creates more of a matte finish to the synthetic fibres, reducing the often shiny appearance of artificial grass.

Determining How Much You'll Need

All our synthetic turf varieties are sold by the lineal metre, but priced by the square metre. This means you will have to buy a certain length of the pre-determined width. For example, because Formosa is 3.71m wide, if you were to buy 10m2 of it you would receive just under 2.7 Lm of grass (10sq/m divided by 3.71). Likewise, if you are after 5 Lm you would order 18.6m2 (5Lm times 3.71m). We agree that it would make more sense to just price it by the lineal metre, however this is how the rest of the market sells synthetic grass - so to make it easier for you to compare prices we've decided to follow suit.

If you plan your area incorrectly, the joins may be noticeable or you could end up with unnecessary wastage. This could lead to you spending more money than you need to on a finished product that you aren't happy with.
